Time Flies

Well, I just realized as I write this post that it has been 1 year since my last post.  Where does the time go?  So much has happened in my life since last October.....I am talking MAJOR LIFE CHANGES!!  They are exciting changes too!

I am the proud grandmother of a handsome 6 month old boy named
Merrik.  Isn't he just the cutest?  (of course I know I'm partial)
The news of this little one's arrival prompted me to finally make the decision to leave my job of 17 years plus in the home building field to be a stay at home grandma!  My son and his girlfriend still need to finish their degrees and so I am full time babysitter for the little bundle of joy!  Aren't I just the luckiest person you know?

These changes have also allowed me time to devote to my favorite past time....all types of paper crafting!!!!!  So stay tuned as I will definitely be posting regularly and hope that you will follow my journey.

Thanks for stopping by,

New Look!!!

Well what do you think of my new look??????  Im just thrilled to pieces.....Veronica did a FABULOUS job creating the ambiance I was looking for my blog.  All this created another learning curve for this cyber journey I have embarked upon.....create a Facebook Page, join and set up a gallery at Split Coast Stampers.....and learn how to add my new watermark to my creations!!!!  More than my tired brain can fathom at the moment....LOL.

I will be posting new projects on Sunday.  I am hosting a Mommy & Me Craft day for my friends and family.  We decided to do this once a month, where we will make an art project, and an easy Scrapbook page.  I feel it is very important for young ones to be stimulated artistically and to be able share family memories.

I need to scurry off to cut felt and letters........So until Sunday....keep dry, safe and inspired!

Just Flyin' By.......

Hi -  you all are most likely sleeping, but for some reason, I CAN'T....Sooooooooooooo......my nephew was is the inspiration for this card ~ he will be FOUR in just a few weeks and this is really gonna make him smile!!  Don't ya just love little boys when they are sweet!!  Now, now, they CAN be sometimes :0)

The 2 background papers are from Echo Park Paper Co.'s "A Boy's Life" by Michelle Coleman.  I love the background planes that mimic the focal point of the card.

The red plane pulling the "Happy Birthday" sign is from Taylored Expressions' "Plane Awesome" set (that came with coordinating dies - How FAB is that?)!!!
I embossed the larger, lite-blue ,diagonal, striped paper with Stampin Up's "Clouds", but you probably have to look REAL CLOSE and HARD because it is a subtle detail.

I am entering this card in Sketch it Saturdays at UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES #222

Well, Im off to see if I can sleep now, thanks for stoppin' by and wish me luck!

Cheerful Sunflowers

Happy Hump Day to you all.  Thanks for stopping by!  It has been several weeks since my last post....where do the days go?  It's just been a crazy summer and the upcoming Autumnal Equinox doesn't appear to be promising a slowing down of pace at all....OMG.....

The card I have posted today was inspired by my beautiful sister-in-law...she is such a sweetie pie.  Always cheery and bright eyed, I just love her to death!!!!  This card will be for her up-coming birthday.

The stamp is Stampendous - "Daisy Thanks", but I colored (Copics) the daisies as sunflowers to meet the challenge, and sunflowers just seemed more appropriate for the time of year!  The beautiful fall color pallette plaid paper is from Echo Park's "Reflections Fall" - and I a hopin' you can see that the centers of these sunflowers were colored and then topped off with Tim Holtz's "Vintage Photo" Distressed Glitter...which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

I am entering this card in two challenges:

Well, wish me luck!  And I hope you stop on back to see what else I have been conjuring up!

Art Journal Every DayGood summer's eve to you all!

I know I have not been very chatty for the last few weeks.  I was sick for two weeks with a horrible summer cold that really knocked the wind out of my sails, so to speak.  But the upside to this is that I spent alot of time reading everyone else's blogs and I am just in love with Julie Balzar's Designs!!!!!  I have started Art Journaling and I have to say it really is fun and exciting and NOT at all as intimidating as I first anticipated.  Im not a trained artist.....card making, scrapbooking and decorating my home are the furthest I have ventured since the hours upon hours I spent coloring and cutting out paper dolls as a young girl.  Anything more than that I have admired from afar for many years....50+.  One day last year I decided to go back to school and I took a Color & Design class, the ABC's of art.  The rest is history, I cant get enough and learn enough about different mediums and techniques.

Speaking of getting to it....I do plan on doing a few cards this week that I will be entering in some challenges.  So thanks for stopping by and I hope you drop in again soon to see what Im into next!

Welcome to my latest card! But first I just have to say WOW ! The weekend here by the beach was beautiful, and I actually found time to get some badly needed gardening done.  I needed the time MORE than the plants I think!? :o) EXTREMELY therapeutic - lol....All kidding aside, we spent the weekend catching up with friends, kickin' it in the backyard with some summer cocktails and rafts a floatin' in the pool.  A GREAT time was had by all.

So below you see "Bubbles Loves Bubbly" one of Stampin Bella's Uptown Girls.  I just wish I was the one in that tub right now!  It would truly be "DELIGHTFUL"...sentiment from Lyric Correction, which is embossed in Stampin' Up's "Pool Party".

I got the gray & yellow patterned paper from Teresa Collins' "Carolina Breeze". The solid shimmer gray cardstock (Creative Memories) was run through an adorable folder I just got, it's a Lattice by Die'sire Embossalicious.  Flourishes are from Mememory Box (Big Splash Border) and Spellbinders' (Floral Flourishes & Grand Labels Eleven).  Bubbles is colored in Copics and of course no card is complete until the Fairy Dust is add....a little stickles (Star Dust) gold glitter pen; rhinetstones and sequins!

I am entering "BUBBLES LOVES BUBBLY" in:
Color Throwdown CTD253

Wish me luck and I hope you love Bubbles as much as I do.

Good afternoon!!!  It has been a whirlwind of a couple weeks, between crazy work deadlines and having some crappy stomach bug for 2 weeks, YES I SAID TWO WEEKS!!  I am back and trying to frantically catch up with the crafting goals I set for July.

So let's get down to it, shall we?  My first card is made from a Tiddly Inks digital - "Bathing Beauty"...isn't she just adorable? I thought what summer treats would I enjoy the most on a hot sunny day, the answer was immediate!  A nice cool tropical libation of some sort served in a coconut!

She is colored with Copics, I used Spellbinders' Lacey Circle die and LaLaLand's Wave die.  The papers are from Echo Park "Splash" paper pack.  The coconut embellishement is Recollections, some shells and Icicle stickles to give a sparkling sun effect.
I am entering this card in two card challenges:

i(heart) sketch challenge #28;

Sketch028

and TiddlyInks challenge #114 - Summer Treats
Our Current Challenge - Father's Day

My second card and it is also a Tiddly Inks digital stamp - Charles' Tulips.  He's just soooo COOL!

I colored Charles with copics and used Liquid Glass on his trench to make it shiney, as well as the tulips.  First I embossed the white cardstock with Cuttlebug "Script Texture" and then used Spellbinders' Creatopia Heart die; the paper is a scrap of houndstooth I had in the scrap paper pile!  SCORE!  Finished it off with some red gross grain ribbon, sentiment; stickles and silver heart brads.

I am entering Charles as well as Bathing Beauty for the Tiddly Inks Design Team Call.

I hope you found a few ideas you liked and that you come back to visit soon!!
Ta Ta For Now,
Misha
